Mayhem is Everywhere

Allstate says so!

As we dip our toes into the waters of 2019, it might be a good time to evaluate our insurance polices and see if we have the coverage we need. Do we have enough life insurance, to offset an untimely death? Do we have enough on our cars to handle unplanned accidents? How about our possessions? Have we removed every possible risk?

Allstate's commercials are pretty effective at letting us in on every conceivable possibility of harm or destruction and pretty convincing at getting us to think about buying their protective products, however even they can't cover everything. And realistically, they can't insure the most important things in life that our hearts most long for.

How about insuring our children will grow up and follow God? How about coverage for ensuring that each of our loved ones would join us in faith and heaven. Next on the list, that our marriages would be sweet with no separation of thinking on finances, child-rearing decisions or family life options; that both spouses have commitment to living Scripturally, agree on what true spiritual leadership looks like in the home, as well as a hundred other things. Living in this life is risky.

Yet, how sweet are the promises of God for us to pillow our heads on at night:

"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10

“For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’ Isaiah 41:13

Which promises are you tucking into your policy to help you manage life's risks?

Allstate makes money by convincing you they can help you manage your risks in the material world. Who helps you manage your risk when it comes to everything else? Are you in good hands?

We hope you have your agent on board...Jesus. He doesn't rule out mayhem because it poses no threat to Him. You have Him in you and therefore it really is no threat to you either, when He walks with you through it. Like the guy on the Allstate commercial, the enemy is constantly looking for ways to trip you up. Your best plan is to stay in Jesus, and let him live through you. He promises the Enemy is going down.

Stay rich in His love, stay saturated with His Word, and stay listening for His directions.

Mayhem is everywhere, but defeated. God has You, child. Lay back against Him and breath.
